The common sentiment around these parts is disbelief.  We can’t believe the summer has flown by so quickly, we can’t believe the internship is over, we can’t believe we are going to go back to “normal” life.  Although I feel like I have been debriefing quite often, I know I will be processing this experience for years.  It would take me another two months to tell you all I have learned this summer.  Therefore, I will treat this internship like a weekly newspaper and leave my loyal readers with the headlines from the summer:

 Its all about the relationship

Live outside the comfort zone-that is where I grow

Faith lived, not faith preached

Selfishness:  how it holds me back and what it looks like to give it up

Accountability without relationship is nothing

God’s heart for social justice.  The Church has a place IN society not apart from it.

Parallel Parking 101

What the Church is, should be, and how I can help change it: Institution v.  community

The individualism of our culture and how that is manifested in the city

The value of human life comes from God only

Discipleship:  Follow me as I follow Christ

Be ye doers of the word, not hearers only

Three C’s- Community, Communication, Clarity

God doesn’t need me, but he wants me

Good works and Christ-like living are a byproduct of a genuine relationship with God, not a way to God or Heaven

Real life Christianity- out of the classroom where the rubber meets the road

Plant seeds, grow trees

Even more than I am pursuing Him, He is pursuing me

Christianity: behavior modification versus truly knowing God

LOVE

God is the end, not the means
