I started my job this week.  I guess I should say I started in my primary function this week.  It was the third week of work, of my internship.  My major functions for 2 weeks has been a support role.  Any time someone wasn't there or needed help with something, that was my job, whether it be with food, lifeguarding, bus driving, taking kids home for disciplinary problems, fixing things, running music, going on supply runs and errands or whatever else needed doing. This week, I started teaching.  I have two students, Imani and Saiquan, or Beedie as he likes to be called.  We've been reading A Wrinkle in Time and doing vocabulary and grammar.  It's going well, and although no one likes summer school, the classes are short and my kids are really fun. I still have lots of very random support roles, but it keeps any of my days from being the same.  That's something I really like.  It also gives me the chance to help with things like suggesting prizes for the kids when they draw from the hat.  This week, I suggested "Challenge Dink to a Dance-off."  Dink is one of our most rambunxious and energetic Lil' Tykes.  He is constantly moving and always dancing.  He's got some real genuine skill and probably a real future in it.  Someone drew the prize and he got up and totally brought down the house.  We were all rolling in the aisles and so very proud.  Next week... challenging Percy to a dance-off...
