Unfortunately no matter how hard I try I cannot get this blog to format properly. I have tried writing in another location, and copying and pasting and I have tried writing directly in this little box and neither works so thank you for bearing with my extremely long paragraphs. Last week we officially started the day camp. I have never been a camp councilor so I was really excited. I would have a little huddle of boys between the ages of 8 and 12 and they would all be equally as energetic and excited about camp as I was. That was half true. I had my huddle (aka. The 2009 Legendary Crew) and they live up to their name, most the time. However, we all have our moments where we do not like what is planned or we are just having an off day and do not have the energy to jump up and down screaming along with the whole camp "ICE CREAM n CAKE do the ICE CREAM n CAKE." It's completely understandable. But through those moments is where I have to ask God to give me the strength to give them the energy and I have to crank up my hyper excitement to overdrive and dance around all my boys screaming and jumping up and down making them do the motions with me. It is a blast. But after all the kids get pumped up and excited to be at camp for the day, we go through our individual class lessons and eat lunch it is time for lunch which is followed by worship. Worship is a time when the whole camp comes together and we sing together. Listening to all the kids singing and drumming is one of my favorite parts of the day. Today in particular one of the kids was having a lackluster morning but, come worship time he started turning around. By the end of worship after we had sung the final chorus of "You are Good" he was wishing we had another song to sing. Times like these are very uplifting, and encouraging. These moments are precious and must not be taken for granted. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ, Romans 15:5.
