Nan Silkunas' Biography
Hi, I’m Nan Silkunas. I like to run, jump, play, skip, and swim. I think the best part of a Hostess Lite cupcake is the frosting, not the filling. And I like to listen to 80s jams when I do the laundry.

I’m from outside of Philadelphia, in Lower Gwynedd, PA. I have stellar parents- Betty and Steven Silkunas- and a younger sister, Leigh, who is also my best friend. My family is pretty tight in that intense dinner time discussion and competitive Scrabble kind of way. They are most excellent. I currently attend the University of Richmond where I am one semester away from completing my degree in Leadership Studies! I don’t know what’s coming next in my life adventure so I’ll see where God takes me.

In the past couple years, God has given me the opportunity to serve in some pretty awesome ways . . . doing disaster relief work with the National Preparedness and Response Corps in Florida and researching reconciliation and development in South Africa this past fall. I am excited to be a CHAT intern this summer. I have been involved in scholastic part of the program since freshman year. I look forward to discussing more than the dreaded fractions and My Dog Buddy. I can’t wait to get to know all the kids/teens better and to be a more real part of their community. Bring on the summer!
