Doug Clementson's Biography
The name’s James Douglas Clementson. I love my Jesus, my music, them movies, and your food. I was recently graduated from Old Dominion University with a major in history and a minor in sociology, so basically I learned a lot about myself but am unqualified for almost everything else. That said, I loved my time there, especially my pursuit in history, and would never think for a second that another school would have been a better fit for me.

Currently, I am one of the six fine gentlemen who dwell in the magnificent Lighthouse. We all have utterly transformed this fine establishment into a truly fine establishment with the most graceful of touches. Under MadDog’s watch we can do no wrong.

Jesus once accused the rich young ruler for language abuse when he misunderstood the word ‘good’. I too think I know what deserves to be dubbed with love or hate when I constantly label trivialities under such titles, but there is one instance where I find that absolutes are completely necessary. Take the band Nickleback for instance. I probably think about proving this band to be one of the vilest bands in existence every day. One of these days I’m going to do it, but for now I’ll stick with just making fun of them as my explanation. I plead to you, my beloved audience, tell me some attribute that can redeem this… band?. I am fond of the spastic, lo-fi sound, but I am digging on some piano music at the moment. Besides music, I adore ultimate frisbee, climbing obstacles, and reading.

I came into contact with CHAT when I volunteered over spring break with ODU’s InterVarsity two years ago and have never been the same since. My time here bombarded me with questions that God blessed me with. The only answer to these questions that I could see was to seek God out where I encountered the questions. As a result, I interned that summer. It was probably one of the best times of my life experiencing questions in an atmosphere centered on community which I had never been amongst before. I left with more questions than when I entered. When ODU did their second service trip I think I was hooked. Not that I knew I was going to come back and intern at that point because I didn’t, but in the back of my mind I saw the people of Church Hill, whom I could never forget, and knew that I would be back. Well here I am. Another internship and another opportunity to get to know and attempt to dedicate myself to my Lord as well as the people around me who I know will mold me into the man who I long to be.

Come and sit on our stoop as I know I’m invited to yours. If not, get your brooms to shoo me away because I’m a’coming.
