Danielle Goodman's Biography
I was born January 29, 1986 in Norfolk, VA. Having five brothers and sisters, Amaris 22, Lowell 21, Aaron 16, Chris 12, and Ashlee 11, our house was never quiet. Its three boys and three girls, like the Brady Bunch, oddly enough growing up people used to joke us, calling us the Goodman bunch. Needless to say that got real old real fast. I was raised in First Baptist Church Campostella, but I currently attend Victory life Fellowship right here in Richmond, though this summer I have the privilege of worshipping at Third Presbyterian.

I attended public schools all my life, starting with Poplar Halls Elementary School, following Lake Taylor Middle School and ending with Booker T. Washington High School. Currently a rising sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University, I’m majoring in sociology. I’m seriously contemplating minoring in religious studies, but haven't made my mind up yet, I’m defiantly praying about it. I hope to pursue a masters in sociology so that I may enter into the field of research. I’m part of the Movement at VCU, a true community of believers! It’s kind of like Intervarsity but not. It’s an awesome on campus ministry that I have the privilege of serving in. I thank God for it.

I got involved with CHAT through kind of like an alternative spring break kind of thing. The movement and Intervarsity of VCU got together to explore the community service options right here in our own city. One day we ran tutoring at Percy’s. At the end Percy mentioned that they were looking for interns for the summer. After thinking about it and praying extensively about the matter, I decided this would be an awesome way to spend my summer. At the time I accepted the internship I knew it was a great program, but I had no idea of the extent of the ministry. It is way beyond program status, it is so much more than that. We are just not people coming in to “help”, but, sharing our lives, we are members of the community, walking along side our neighbors, here to encourage and be encouraged.

I’m really an active person. I love field hockey. I was the captain of my high school team my junior and senior year, and really miss playing. I also played soccer and for a short while was a majorette, but decided I liked running around in a skirt chasing a small wooden ball with a stick loads better. Seriously I enjoy anything that requires, jumping crawling, skipping or running. I like to color too! Don’t laugh its very therapeutic. I like to read as well. I used to devour books, growing up going to the library was a reward. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to really take time to get into a book this past year, seeing as I was adjusting to college life. Hopefully this summer I can pick it back up. My favorite color is pink, oh yeah and I really like Hello Kitty, that's my girl.
