"A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest." -C.S. Lewis
This quote was given to me from a friend and really descibes me to the fullest. I have been collecting children's stories to place in my future classroom. Not without reading them first though.
I have recently obtained my Bachlors degree from Old Dominion and will continue my education at ODU to receive my Masters in Education. It has always been a dream of mine to teach in an elementary school. I was blessed to have many wonderful teachers who have only encouraged me to pursue this passion that has been bestowed upon me. It wasn't until 2010 that I knew my desire to teach within the inner city was realized. I have been to many week long trips to CHAT and fell in love with the community and the mission that is practiced daily. Coming to the CHAT trips has lit the fire in my heart to pursue the passion to teach in an inner city environment.
I come from a Military family that was thankful not to move around frequently. I have spent the majority of my life in Virginia Beach. I am the third child and the only girl in my family. I enjoy reading, watching movies, buying school supplies, going to the beach and playing Just Dance =)
I am hoping that this blog will be a place where the story can be enjoyed by all.

The Little Tykes are slowly grasping the...

This week I was shown just how amazing all the people are at CHAT. I don’t know if I have been home for my birthday in about ten years. I am normally at camp. Many memorable birthdays have been spent at camp with my church family. This year was no different. All the street leaders...

As another week has come to an end I find myself sitting in a room with seven guys watching the basketball game. While I am not paying any attention just listening to their comments is quite enjoyable. They did try to include me in the conversation but I could care less about basketball, so I...
