LeShawnda Bacon's Biography
My name is Leshawnda Bacon. I was born and raised in Norfolk,(757!!!)Va. In 2006, I graduated from Norview High School. From there I went on to attend Virginia Commonwealth University where I'm now double majoring in Art History and Homeland Security. I like to think my life isn't too extravagant. But in actuality it is. I've had some pretty amazing experiences and have met some very amazing people in my life. I thank God for each of them. I consider this biography a blessing as well because i'm so grateful just to be living, and doing some positive work with CHAT this summer. I believe it was God who lead me here. And I'm anxious to see how this internship will end and what He will lead me to do next. We'll see...

Doug Clementson's Biography
I came out screaming being born and raised in Richmond, VA. I am the youngest of three, and my father is Lewis Clementson and my mother is Nancy Loyd. Presently, I am a rising fourth year student at Old Dominion University studying history and sociology. I consider everyday at ODU an adventure filled with the BEST people, ultimate frisbee and Intervarsity. I am extremely passionate about music (especially Lightning Bolt, Talking Heads and Woodie Guthrie), movies such as Cul de sac, One Flew Over the Coo Coo Nest and Amele and the stupendous Seinfeld. CHAT blessed me immensely over spring break for the week ODU’s IV volunteered, and I am extremely excited and grateful to once again have the opportunity to show Church Hill’s youth the Kingdom of God.

Aaron Goodman's Biography
Hello I’m a rising junior attending VCU studying political science (go Rams go). I am one of the middle children of 6, me being the 4th child. I’m from Norfolk VA (go 757). I really like video games, especially Guitar Hero and Halo. And that’s a CHAT wide challenge. If anyone wants to get down we can set that up. Other than that my hobbies include sports and such manly things, in addition to pretending to know how to play the guitar. I’m excited about my time here. We have an opportunity to do something meaningful with our summer and in turn grow from it. (Go CHAT).

Andrea Hague's Biography
I am a rising sophomore at the University of Richmond. I grew up in Athens, Georgia, but took a gap year between high school and college, working in Italy as a nanny for an Italian family in the beautiful city of Torino (Eviva Italia!). Hundreds of diapers, dishes of pasta, and train tickets later, I headed back to the US and the University of Richmond, where I got involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Looking for an opportunity to serve, meet new people, and get to know the city better, I started volunteering with CHAT, where God has blessed me with all that and so much more. I’m excited about the internship this summer and getting to know the children and the community better.

Some of my hobbies include listening to music, writing songs, playing basketball, and art. I am a rising junior at the University of Richmond where I am a Bonner Scholar. Aaron Thomeer's Biography
On the seventh of August it will have been two decades since I was born to Paul and Cynthia Thomeer, one day shy of the most fantastic birthday ever (8/8/88 in case you are wondering). My parents are marvelous people and a great blessing to my three siblings and me, who were lucky enough to be raised in a God fearing household in Yorktown, Virginia. Over the course of those two decades stuff has happened, friends have been made and most fantastically I have been able to grow closer to my Lord and Savior on the too rare occasions where I actually have my priorities straight. I think this summer is definitely going to be one of those times as I take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to work with the people here at CHAT. I learned of this wonderful ministry as freshman at Old Dominion University. I was involved with Intervarsity there and we came down over spring break to help with tutoring and fixing up the Lighthouse (a center of CHAT activities). I will continue my schooling in the fall as a Second Year transfer at the University of Virginia. I honestly enjoy long walks on the beach and curling up in front of the fire with a good book. Though I don’t see myself doing too much of the latter in this heat.
